This project was the second phase of expansion to the First Phase Formulation Development Facility. The project surrounds an existing laboratory building at Amgen's Biotechnology Research Center This building project included research science laboratories, a formulation development process facility expansion and an office administration and conferencing wing.

The 2-story, 38,000 square foot structure was constructed in two phases, around all 4 sides of the existing 32,000 square foot laboratory building. The existing building remained fully occupied and operational during construction with limited shutdowns for connections to new mechanical, electrical, and laboratory piping systems.
