This project
funded by the Weintraub Foundation and the National Institute
of Health, focuses on providing a stimulating facility for
research development of biotechnologically developed prosthetics
for reconstructive surgery.
Approximately
5,300 square feet of space was renovated into state-of-the-art
dental treatment rooms, an elliptical seminar/lecture room,
a large research laboratory and dark room, as well as tissue
culture, gene analysis and histopathology labs for reconstructive
biotechnology research. The center features an extremely
innovative research laboratory with ceiling suspended reagent
shelving, allowing unobstructed access to laboratory bench
tops and eighteen custom "cockpit" styled researcher's
workstations. The facility houses a Faraday room, which
is electromagnetic shielded from outside radio waves and
microwaves.
